Role The Communications Officer position is full-time, Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm.
An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Responsibilities Communications Officer - Role Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for outward communications including the newsletter, social media pages and similar
Responsibility for upkeep of the College website, including the proofing and maintenance of appropriate school policies
Work with College staff to monitor and record key college events for publication
Support the Executive team and Administration staff with producing high quality internal written documents including policies and internal communications
Responding to social media and website enquiries
Assisting in the drafting of policies
Other communications related tasks as allocated by the Executive Team

Location Profile Elevation Secondary College is a new 7-12 Secondary College in Melbourne's north. The school opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 7 students in 2020 to a purpose built, state of the art educational facility.
