Communications and Community Engagement LeadMarketing Communications (Marketing & Communications)Full time$118,632 – $123,868 per year including super$118,632 - $123,868 per annum including super and attractive salary packaging optionsFour weeks of annual leave per annum plus leave loading as well as additional paid leave during the Christmas closureFull time staff work a 35-hour week and we offer flexible working arrangements with the ability to work from home on agreed daysStaff are eligible to salary sacrifice a portion of their base salary (up to $18,000)An opportunity to make a differenceCaxton Legal Centre represents the interests of people who are disadvantaged or low-income earners when they come into contact with the Law.The Communications and Community Engagement Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting teams to deliver community education and engagement services and events.
The role also manages, coordinates and delivers a broad range of internal and external communications.Key accountabilitiesProvide specialist advice and support on communications and community engagement to achieve strategic goals and manage risks and opportunities.Work closely with and support teams responsible for developing and delivering community legal education resources & activities and community engagement initiatives.Oversee the ongoing updates and publish the Queensland Law Handbook, the Lawyers Practice Manual Queensland, the Know Your Rights website, the Annual Report and other organisation publications.Initiate the development, and support teams to self-develop, communications collateral (e.g., website content, speaking notes, media releases, social media content) that promotes Caxton's reputation and improves knowledge of human rights and the law.Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the internal Caxton culture and champion organisational direction and strength via internal and external communications, branding, and events.Manage and maintain the branding suite of tools, graphics and collateral, and lead the organisation in understanding how to uphold the brand externally.Participate in sector collaborations on community engagement and education.Manage a small team of employed staff and volunteers.Develop and implement a plan of activities to build the communication and engagement skills and capacity of the program teams.QualificationsBachelor degree with focus on Community Engagement, Communications, Community Development, Project Management.Demonstrated understanding of how to design/support communication and community engagement activities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated record of completed work/projects/events.Ability to work in a highly collaborative way.Experience in generating and distributing online content.WHY CAXTON LEGAL?Caxton Legal Centre has played a central part in Queensland's legal landscape over the past 40 years, leading the state's first Stolen Wages case and successfully representing victims of the 2011 floods.We are an engaged, passionate and talented group of lawyers, social workers and administrative staff with whom you are encouraged to collaborate with and learn from in order to meet our client's needs.Our full-time staff enjoy a 35 hour working week paid at the full-time Award rate, with time off in lieu if additional approved hours are worked.Paid Christmas leave is provided during the office shut-down period to New Years in addition to four weeks paid annual leave.Caxton is currently experiencing significant growth and change across many of its programs; these roles represent investments into the future of our service delivery and capabilities across South-East Queensland.Please apply by providing a 1-2 page cover letter addressing the key accountabilities and your CV, for the attention of Damian Kelleher, Chief Operations Officer.
