Responsibilities include testing, configuring, improving, and troubleshooting both new and existing metering and communications systems to ensure they meet company needs. You will also handle the communication of new processes and technologies to management, colleagues, installers, and consumers whilst contributing to the planning of future products and services while staying informed about relevant legislation and regulations for Metering Provision accreditation. Your role is to provide engineering and operational support for all metering activities and drive engineering improvements to reduce communication faults in the field, enhancing overall communication reliability.You will monitor the performance of the meter fleet, focusing on communication efficiency and fault rates to ensure alignment with financial year budgets. Proactively identifying and addressing meter reading issues that may impact customer SLAs will be a key part of your role, along with planning and implementing remedial actions. You will assess, test, and integrate new products into the PLUS ES ecosystem of hardware and software solutions, while working with communication providers to enhance operational improvements for PLUS ES's product offerings.Additional duties include assisting in the release management of the metering Head End System, Vodafone IoT platform, Telstra JASPER software releases, as well as performing network regression and lab testing. The ideal applicant will have strong electrical engineering analysis skills, particularly in electricity metering, communications equipment, and modern microelectronics. Experience with contemporary telecommunications systems, measurement, and microelectronics is essential, along with a background in developing and maintaining procedures for laboratory and general metering equipment.The role requires knowledge or experience in modern electronics volume manufacturing and design, including interaction with factories. Familiarity with project management techniques and the ability to set priorities are desirable.
