The Opportunity

How many businesses can honestly say their revenue is up 40% quarter of quarter? Come on, seriously! Occupying a strong position in the consumer goods space, they enjoy great brand awareness and an incredibly robust eCommerce platform (thank God!). After recent investment in more robust IT infrastructure, a bevy of new data analytics tools, and indeed some new headcounts; it’s finance who stand to reap the rewards!

The Role

We are looking to secure a Commercial Manager whose role will be to bridge the gap between the marketing, supply chain, category and finance teams. Duties will include:

Compile weekly sales reporting and slice and dice every way possible;

Provide regular financial performance analysis by category and product;

Deliver regular market and sales analysis looking at sales mix, pricing, promotional metrics, rate of sale, disruption etc;

Evaluate ROI analysis and make recommendations based on commercial return;

Compile financial, sales, category and consumer insights to identify sales growth opportunities;

Deep dive analysis covering pricing/promotion effectiveness, brand sales variance/opportunities vs competitors;

Manage promotional campaign budgets, brand investment budgets and complete month-end reporting and variance analysis; and

Build dashboards reviewing financial, sales and forecasting data.

Your Background

You will be CA, CPA or CIMA qualified;

You must possess experience as a finance business partner for sales and marketing. Being a ‘Management Accountant’ and running the Marketing BU budget is not enough. Your experience has to be highly commercial at a product/category/brand level;

Your background will be in FMCG, QSR, Retail……basically a consumer goods background;

You will have no problem engaging with anyone from the CFO to the Chief Marketing Officer, category team, pricing team etc; and

Who will need to possess strong modelling skills and be able to build complex forecasting models, elasticity models, scenario models etc.
