An exciting opportunity to join Austin Cancer Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC) as a Clinical Trials Team Leader.
We are seeking a part-time employee (24hrs) to job-share the Team Leader role in our G.I / Breast Tumour Stream team for a fixed term period. About Cancer Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC): Austin Health's CCTC has a reputation of excellence with expertise in managing therapeutic interventional Oncology and Haematology clinical trials from First-in-human Phase 1 to Phase 3.
We have over 200 clinical trials in progress including Pharmaceutical Company sponsored, Collaborative Group and Investigator-initiated trials.
About the role The successful applicant will become part of CCT leadership team as the Team Leader of an established tumour stream team of investigators, clinical trial coordinators and research assistants.
They will assist the CCT Manager with effective oversight of daily operations, using expertise to provide guidance, direction, supervision and supportive professional development.
The role includes ensuring a high quality clinical trial service that fosters a positive team culture and productive working environment, meets ethical and regulatory requirements, and the needs of investigators, external stakeholders and patients.
A regular day will see you: In close collaboration with the CCTC Manager and Principal Investigators, the Team leader's responsibilities include trial protocol feasibility assessment, and trial budget and contract negotiations within the CCTC established framework.Assess, manage and forecast workload portfolios of staff resources within allocated team.Support staff in identifying the training and education implications of each protocol and oversees the development of appropriate strategies to meet these needs to ensure the safe and accurate implementation of the study.Oversees and participates where required in data collection and data entry for tumour stream team clinical trial protocols.About you As the Clinical Trials Team Leader, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
A registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or Relevant Health Sciences Background.Substantial clinical trial coordination experience in the specialty field of Oncology/Haematology with demonstrated knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, and relevant ethical and regulatory/statutory guidelines.Demonstrated leadership ability, with a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the Team Leader role as outlined in the position description.Demonstrated knowledge of reviewing Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and site Research Governance Office (RGO) requirements in the conduct of research trial protocols.A background of experience which enables excellent competencies and skills for the management of clinical trials and staff coordinating trials.Ability to build a dynamic team which works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
