The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is seeking a Clinical Risk Manager to provide expert clinical nursing/midwifery leadership to the EFNLHN Quality Team.
This pivotal role will support the Nursing Directors and Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers in the implementation of a comprehensive clinical risk management framework designed to improve patient safety, quality of care, and service outcomes.
As a Clinical Risk Manager, you will work across a range of clinical and quality improvement initiatives, playing a vital role in identifying, managing, and reducing clinical risks while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organisation.
In this role, you will:
Lead Clinical Risk Management Initiatives: Collaborate with clinical staff in identifying and investigating patient adverse events and work actively to mitigate clinical risks.Support Safety and Quality Programs: Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that enhance risk awareness and improve clinical risk reporting and management across the organisation.Provide Expert Clinical Advice: Offer guidance to nursing and midwifery staff on clinical risk management, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures to safeguard patient outcomes.Develop and Deliver Education: Create and present educational programs designed to enhance staff knowledge on risk management practices, patient safety, and quality improvement.Contribute to Committees and Working Groups: Participate actively in committees focused on quality, safety, and risk, contributing your expertise to drive improvements across the health network.Monitor and Report on Clinical Risks: Prepare and submit mandated reports on clinical risks, ensuring that key risk data supports decision-making and aligns with the strategic direction of EFNLHN.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse or midwife with a passion for patient safety and risk management to make a tangible impact in a supportive, forward-thinking health service.
What We're Looking ForWe are looking for an experienced Clinical Risk Manager who can lead by example, drive change, and foster a culture of safety across the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network.
You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, with at least 3 years post registration experience.
Experience in developing procedures, managing change and evaluating outcomes related to the identification, analysis, assessment, treatment and monitoring of an organisation's risks is essential.
