Full-time, 12-month fixed-term opportunity, with a possibility of extension Dynamic opportunity for a Clinical Research Fellow to join the Westmead Applied Research Centre, based at Westmead Hospital Base Salary $86,584 - $145,858 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity We are seeking a Clinical Research Associate (Level A) or Clinical Research Fellow (Level B) to drive clinical research in the Digital Health space at Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC).
In this role, you will primarily work on CARDIOCHARGE, an MRFF-funded national, multi-site implementation and evaluation of an evidence-based post-discharge Digital Health Intervention for patients after a hospitalisation for CVD.
Additionally, you will contribute your research expertise to advance the capabilities of the Centre's outreach, specifically aiming to improve health outcomes of patients and integrate new procedures and policies in relation to patient discharge.
You will work under broad supervision, independently planning and prioritising tasks to achieve research goals.
As a subject matter expert, you will act as the first point of contact for your area of expertise, providing guidance and resolving routine issues while collaborating on more complex challenges.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of their discipline and a proactive approach to research.
For Level A Research Associate (Research Only) Work closely with the team leader, researchers, chief investigators and key stakeholders to achieve project aims work independently and as part of a team to undertake activities related to the conduct of quantitative research including reviews of the scientific literature, the preparation of study protocols and related documentation, and the preparation and execution of data management and statistical analysis plans assist in all activities related to the conduct of the research, including the reviewing and updating of research protocols and related documents and coordinating data between various teams assist with undertaking administrative requirements of research project management assist in building and maintaining strategic relationships with internal and external collaborators, including clinicians and health-based staff For Level B Research Fellow (in addition to the above) work independently and as part of a team to design, coordinate, execute and implement study protocols and procedures, including execution of complex analyses in accordance with study aims maintain a research profile, including preparation and publication of peer-reviewed journal articles, conference and seminar papers take an active role in the development and submission of funding applications independently develop and maintain a network of academic, and professional partners, internal and external stakeholders and collaborators engage in translational research and facilitate knowledge-sharing provide low level and informal mentoring/guidance to junior staff members and researchers as required About you For Level A Research Associate (Research Only) completion of a medical degree demonstrated experience developing and contributing to research evidence by producing original, high quality and independent research previous experience in health policy and procedures excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders experience in the development of academic publications or report writing high-level organisational and time management skills, strong attention to detail, and a proven ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines For Level B Research Fellow (in addition to the above) demonstrated experience conducting original research and coordinating all aspects of the research process including study design and implementation, analysis, reporting and write-up of study findings a research profile in a similar discipline or area of expertise highly developed data analysis skills and experience in health-related policy and research previous experience supervising and mentoring junior staff or researchers.
