About the Opportunity
SWSLHD is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant to make a lasting impact on patient care within our community as part of the DH MH Care Navigation Team. Through community visits, collaboration with the ED team, engagement with consumers, community partnerships, and autonomous decision-making, the Clinical Nurse Consultant will play a vital role in transforming healthcare delivery, improving the patient journey, and ensuring holistic patient well-being.
This senior role offers a chance to work with allied health leaders, utilise advanced assessment skills, and build relationships that contribute to the betterment of healthcare in the South Western Sydney Local Health District.
What You'll be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership, facilitates evidence-based practice. The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research, and professional leadership. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards, and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of care in the given specialty.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
At least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty.
Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe, compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced-based nursing care.
Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement in the workplace.
