Remuneration: $64.57-$65.85 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's
THE ROLE:
The Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator will work with members of the Haematology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and will be responsible for the coordination of care for patients requiring Allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (Allo-HSCT), inclusive of long-term follow-up and late effects needs across the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD).
DUTIES:
Provides individual client-centered consultancy and assessment of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patient journey continuum for complex haematological malignancies progressing to allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) both within the facility and across the HNELHD.
Assessment and monitoring of patient outcomes and coordination of referrals across specialties both within HNELHD and other LHDs as needed.
Provision of a consultancy service across specialties, inclusive of general practice services and other community services on the complex health care needs of patients pre and post Allo-HSCT and specialty vaccinations within the HNELHD.
Provision of expert clinical leadership and consultancy for complex haematological patients' treatment regimens, tissue typing, and donor selection within the facility, HNELHD, and the state.
Provision of mentorship to haematology nurses within the facility, HNELHD, and state-wide.
ABOUT YOU:
Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with APRHA, with demonstrated extensive experience and knowledge of Haematology and Allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (Allo-HSCT).
At least five years post-graduate nursing with 3 years specialty experience in Oncology/Haematology and a postgraduate qualification (preferably Masters Level) related to Oncology/Haematology or evidence of working towards the same.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clinical concepts and information to non-clinical audiences and provide authoritative advice on clinical issues within the field of expertise.
Demonstrated advanced analytical and problem-solving ability to break down complex problems and develop a range of solutions based on specialist expert knowledge of Haematology and Allo-HSCT.
Demonstrated capacity to evaluate current clinical practice within Haematology and Allo-HSCT and recommend improvements to avoid potential problems or minimize impacts on the organization.
Demonstrated highly developed verbal and written communication skills necessary for documenting research, promoting awareness of current research, and providing clinical services directly to patients/clients.
