The Clinical Nurse in the Acute Care Team (ACT), Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) provides Mental Health triage, assessment and consultation liaison for all consumers referred to ACT. The position will be required to work in both community and The Townsville Hospital Emergency Department environments.
The position will be required to work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide mental health assessment, intervention and consultation, mobile crisis response and case management duties as required in accordance with professional standards and legislation consistent with the 10 Year Mental Health Strategy for Queensland and the National Standards for Mental Health Services in the Mental Health Acute Care Team.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment. Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes. Provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving. Use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development. Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a. comprising:
Salary range of $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (full-time) or $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (part-time) (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1) Annual leave with relevant leave loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Requirements:
Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis. Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus. Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing would be well regarded. While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded. Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster. Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
