Climate / Esg Accountant

The Group ESG Accountant will work closely with functions and disciplines across the Asia Pacific organisation to ensure timely and accurate reporting of ESG disclosures via a globally standardized and controlled process. The role will report to the Group Financial Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities: Act as a subject matter expert on the latest SEC, ISSB, EU CSRD and other global regulatory developments as it relates to climate-related disclosures and other ESG matters. Contribute to global ESG team's efforts to assess existing ESG reporting processes including input assessment, data capture, controls and governance, and evaluation of systems capabilities. Drive Asia Pacific content for implementation of technology to record carbon accounting and ESG control and reporting management tool(s) & ensure data sources used in reporting ESG disclosures are strategic and have appropriate ownership to ensure completeness and accuracy. Coordinate or contribute to internal audits or other external reviews of the information within any ESG disclosures. Support Global team to define operating model and roles & responsibilities, to underpin the implementation of a "One Size Fits All" approach to ESG data collection and administration (tailored to meet local needs, as appropriate). Cascade a highly effective communication strategy across the Asia Pacific organization to effectively communicate change and coordinate the implementation of processes and controls, and to ensure a clear understanding of ESG disclosure control principles and guidance and maximum alignment with management's ESG vision. Visibly show commitment to OH&S through participation in formal and informal discussions, workplaces visits and audits. Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's degree or post-Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting, with 8+ years demonstrated experience in a finance or CPA/CA position. Experience in ESG reporting, processes, internal controls, systems with an awareness of ESG related disclosures and industry trends. Strong communication (written & verbal) skills and the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels. Strong data visualization skills and the ability to synthesize data to provide insights for reporting. Adaptive skills including analytical and strategic thinking, problem solving, planning and organisation, presenting, results driven, interpersonally savvy, inquisitive, self-managing, influencing and effective communication. Strong business, finance, and commercial acumen. Excellent management, operational, financial, and administrative skills. Balance competing needs and interests - the ability to assess the needs and interests of multiple stakeholders and determine an optimal course of action.
