Execute superior claims management including determining policy coverage, investigating, evaluating and negotiating claims, and engaging with specialist suppliers and stakeholders.Claims Officer - QLD Liability ClaimsType: Fixed Term Opportunity until Feb 2025Location: BrisbaneThe Opportunity:We currently have opportunities for a Claims Officer to join our QLD Liability Claims team. As a Claims Officer, you will play an integral part of our PI and Liability Claims business by taking pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint. You are self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail, capable of maintaining high standards during times of change and resilient when facing challenges.Your New RoleAs a Claims Officer, your role is pivotal to the team's success, proactively supporting our claims philosophy and strategy, managing end-to-end personal injury and public liability claims and acting within legislative requirements to support the unit in achieving its targeted objectives.The key responsibilities for this role include the following, but are not limited to:Efficient management of the claims process, resulting in accurate completion and validation of claims;Interpreting policy coverage and determining if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed;Establishing and maintaining good client relationships with the insured, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public;Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards;Initiation and completion of any recoveries from third parties;Self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits;Response to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional and courteous manner within Privacy guidelines.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Sound technical understanding and ability to manage diversified liability claims;Proficient in underwriting procedures and policy interpretation;Legal qualifications will be advantageous but not a mandatory requirement;Ability to collaborate with relevant providers including loss adjusters, lawyers and consultants;An understanding of the General Insurance Code of Practice;Ability to build and maintain strong client/customer relationships;Ability to participate in alternative dispute resolution.About QBEWe can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
