JMG are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Structural Group in our Hobart office.

JMG is a multidisciplinary practice operating in public and private sectors with councils, government departments, authorities, architects, project managers, and property owners to facilitate a wide range of exciting projects.

Playing an integral part in the JMG team, you will work within our dynamic Civil/Structural Group to ensure the effective delivery of Civil projects for some of Tasmania's most prominent and exciting developments.
Knowledge and exposure during your career to the civil flood modelling and stormwater infrastructure space would be advantageous.
Our Opportunity as a Civil Engineer includes the following responsibilities: You will take an active role in coordinating and working with teams in the delivery of Civil projects within agreed budgets and time frames and may also assist in preparation of fee submissions and strategic client liaison.You will work independently and with teams of professionals drawing support from senior civil, structural, hydraulic engineers and designers within the office for single and multidiscipline projects.Participate in all project phases, from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and construction phase administration.To be the successful candidate in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills: Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Civil Engineer preferably in a consultancy role.Relevant Tertiary qualifications.Experience in the stormwater infrastructure, flood analysis and stormwater quality treatment areas to support the broad range of projects which we undertake.You should have knowledge of HEC-RAS, DRAINS, MUSIC and/or other related software.Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise engineering reports.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and require you to liaise with Clients, Architects, Planners and Councils to achieve the desired outcomes.Attention to detail and the ability to clearly document designs for the approval of council and other authorities.Experience in the writing of contract specifications and the supervision of civil construction works.The ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, your team and the wider business.The finer details: An attractive salary package commensurate with experience (plus relocation assistance if not already based in Tasmania).Plus, a host of other benefits including: participation in the company's profit sharing scheme, flexible working options, a driven professional development and training program, an energetic team atmosphere and an outstanding company culture.We would love to hear from you!
