What will this role achieve?
Our Reliability role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the supply chain function. In this pivotal leadership role, you will coach the engineering team to build capability, building strong succession plans. You will support diversity and inclusion within the team. Be able to drive performance improvements building on the foundations that are already in place, lead on major modernisation projects, manage multi-million-pound budgets, and support the sustainability goals of the site. The leader will be responsible for the CHP strategy within supply chain and lead engineering reliability on major assets as required.
You will ensure that the business maintains maximum effectiveness and benefit from existing sites technology and in parallel develop concepts and strategies for introducing new manufacturing methods, technologies, and energy reduction strategies. Communication is one of the major factors for the success of this role; you will need to be able to communicate at all levels, build strong working relationships, and influence diverse groups.
What will be your key deliverables?
Establish KPI's, maintenance procedures and policies to ensure the Central Maintenance program is measurable, effective, and sustainable.
Maximise utilisation of our skilled personnel.
Ensure our CHP's and ABO run to our agreed KPI.
Develop in-house maintenance solution for CHP's.
Develop and roll out Reliability Road map for all sites with a standard approach.
Support sites with cost-saving initiatives with MRO.
Review site plans for preventive, predictive and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, structural, and instrumentation equipment.
Create reporting requirements; performance, reliability, MTBF, planned vs reactive, benchmark, failure trends.
Understand assets and locations that require focus.
Together with the factory management teams ensure that the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved for the needs of the business.
Ensure that standards and procedures are in place and regularly updated to govern all engineering activities on sites.
Support in continuous improvement projects and activities.
Develop and implement a strategy that will ensure the Central Engineering function is effective, low cost, well-motivated, flexible, and continually adapts to changing circumstances.
Ensure continued improvement in engineering skills through a structured development programme.
What do you need for this role?
Mechanical or Electrical qualification within an engineering discipline.
Background in engineering within a large multi-site manufacturing organisation.
Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively.
Experience of delivering engineering change projects.
Experience of handling budgets.
Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrable record of influencing at all levels within an organisation.
Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions.
