J oin the State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) and make a real impact in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children across our venues.This critical role will help SSCT meet Victoria's Child Safe Standards by providing expert advice and guidance to our corporate and operational teams. You'll play a pivotal role in identifying and managing risks to child safety, working closely with event organisers, school groups, sports partners, and tenants to ensure all our venues are safe for children and young people.As the Child Safety & Wellbeing Officer your primary responsibilities will include:Lead the charge in raising awareness and understanding of child safety by delivering resources, guidance, and training to employeesCoordinate the identification and mitigation of risks associated with SSCT venues, programs, and projectsMonitor, assess, and report on all child safety incidents, escalating complex matters to senior executives and preparing detailed reportsLiaise with event organisers, schools, sports partners, and families to ensure child safety risks are managed effectivelyEvaluate and update our child safety framework to stay current with legislative changes and best practicesLead cultural initiatives, ensuring a child-safe environment throughout all venuesRequired skills and Qualifications:Proven experience in a child safety or safeguarding role (highly desirable)Detailed knowledge of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and relevant frameworksStrong leadership skills with the ability to provide guidance, support, and training to diverse teamsExperience in risk management, investigations, and preparing data-driven reportsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, young people, and their familiesA commitment to maintaining integrity, exercising sound judgement, and working independentlyWhy is this a great place to work?You will love working at the State Sports Centres.
