Relocation Assistance provided Permanent, Full Time Position Based in NPY Lands, with some travel to Alice Springs ABOUT US Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women's Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.
At its core NPY Women's Council is about family and community – walytja. Our purpose is to work with women, children and their families of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara region in central Australia. Our role is to work side by side and help increase their capacity to lead safe and healthy lives with improved life choices.
ABOUT THE TEAM The Child and Family Wellbeing Service is made up of three programs; Child Nutrition, Intensive Family Support and Child Advocacy. The Child Nutrition Program aims to improve the health and wellbeing of children aged 0-5 years residing in NPY member communities. This is achieved through individual family support and case management for children who are growth faltering or at risk of growth faltering; child nutrition education and promotion through community-based workshops; support to local communities to increase their capacity to develop and implement community-based nutrition programs and strategies; and locally developed and produced resources.
ABOUT THE ROLE We are now recruiting for a Child Nutrition Development Officer in the Child and Family Wellbeing Service (CFWS). This position is based in NPY Lands with some travel to Alice Springs. You will work collaboratively within the Child Nutrition Program to support families with children aged 0-5 years, especially those experiencing growth faltering.
As a Child Nutrition Development Officer you will work across a wide range of tasks including:
Complex Case Management Community Education Capacity building and collaboration across community services Working with stores around nutrition health initiatives. ABOUT YOU This rewarding role could suit a nutrition or health sciences professional wanting to gain invaluable experience, or professionals in other disciplines with transferable skills looking for a change (e.g. teachers, nurses, health care workers etc.). Experience working with remote Indigenous communities or vulnerable minority groups will be highly regarded.
