Chief Of Staff - Canberra, Australia - Australian Capital Territory Summary: Lead the Ministerial office, working closely with the Minister on long-term strategic planning, operational leadership, and day-to-day management of government business and agencies, across a broad range of portfolios and policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a high-performing team and ensure systems and processes support the Minister. Develop and review long-term plans, strategies, and policies for the Minister. Analyse and review complex policy issues and assist the Minister with issues management. Coordinate Government and Legislative Assembly business, including legislation in the Minister's office and across the Executive. Engage in constituency work, maintaining awareness of and coordinating responses to constituency issues. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment and culture where all staff are valued and respected. Provide advice, briefings, speeches, media support, and other outputs for the Minister as required. Manage budget and resources allocation in the Minister's office. Work closely with other Chiefs of Staff, policy advisers, and media advisers to support the ACT Executive. Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Demonstrate leadership and ability to work in a team environment. Exhibit excellent interpersonal, liaison, and relationship management skills. Have experience in developing, analysing, and implementing public policy. Display strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exhibit excellent organisational and priority-management skills. Have excellent written and oral communication skills. Be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Have experience or understanding of parliamentary systems and/or the ACT political system is preferred. Additional Information: The role is for the term of the current government and is a Senior Adviser Level 2 position with a salary of $159,780 - $175,977 plus 7% allowance and superannuation. The successful candidate will be engaged under a Legislative Assembly Members' Staff contract, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the ACT Legislative Assembly Members' Staff Enterprise Agreement 2023 - 2026.
