PMSA envisions a future where education is central to society and where Christian independent education offers the best opportunities for future citizens of the world.About the role: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at PMSA is a strategic leadership role, serving as a partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
Responsible for oversight across four schools, three early learning centres, and an outdoor education facility, the CFO drives financial strategy, governance, reporting, and compliance.
The role manages major income streams, including student fees, government funding, and philanthropy, and supports capital planning, risk management, and sustainability initiatives.
As PMSA advances its 2024–2044 strategic vision, the CFO aligns financial operations with priorities such as digital innovation, operational excellence, and student-centered outcomes grounded in Christian values.This role requires influencing and collaborating with stakeholders, including school principals, Board members, and the community.
The CFO balances commercial acumen with educational purpose, contributing to strategic dialogue and guiding investments.
A focus on talent development and succession planning is essential, with mentoring and team growth responsibilities.
The CFO will modernise systems, enhance business intelligence, and identify innovative funding and efficiency strategies within a constrained fiscal environment.
Ultimately, the CFO shapes PMSA's financial future while championing its commitment to people and purpose.Key accountabilities include: Lead the strategic direction, planning, and overall performance of the financial function.
Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, Board, and Executive Leadership Team.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll, audit, and compliance.
Manage a multidisciplinary finance team and support school-based finance operations.
Ensure strong governance, financial controls, and risk management frameworks.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting, and operational analysis.
Develop long-term investment, sustainability, and capital planning strategies.
Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and financial stakeholders.
Support commercial transactions and strategic planning across the organisation.
Promote a culture of accountability, excellence, and financial insight.
The Person: We seek a seasoned, values-driven financial leader with deep experience in strategic financial management within complex, multi-disciplinary organisations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights aligned with PMSA's strategic and operational goals.The CFO will support the CEO in shaping corporate services strategy, embedding it into daily operations, and contributing to educational excellence within a Christian environment.Candidates should have 10–15 years of executive experience (CFO, COO, or GM level), preferably in not-for-profit, education, or purpose-driven organisations.
A blend of commercial and financial expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and mentor teams are essential.Experience leading large finance functions, managing risk frameworks, and driving continuous improvement is required.
Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality are critical.
The role requires a collaborative, influential leader who can build internal and external relationships, represent PMSA externally, and uphold ethical standards and Christian values.
