This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role with CALM Inc and Care Activities , two closely aligned not-for-profit organisations dedicated to empowering children, young people, families, and communities across Lake Macquarie. CALM Inc, established in 1988, provides Family Support Services, Parenting Programs, Youth Case Management, and School Wellbeing Services. Care Activities, formed in 2016, focuses on delivering Before and After School and Vacation Care services.
Reporting to a shared Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead both organisations, driving strategic initiatives and sustainable growth. The CEO will collaborate with a passionate team to deliver high-quality services that align with the organisations' mission and values, ensuring positive community impact and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the strategic vision, ensuring all programs and services align with CALM Inc and Care Activities' mission to support children, families, and communities. Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency. Oversee governance, compliance, and reporting, working closely with the Board to strengthen organisational capabilities. Cultivate partnerships with government, community stakeholders, and funding bodies to enhance service delivery and future growth. Develop and execute strategies for business development, including grant applications, fundraising, and revenue diversification. Champion a positive, inclusive organisational culture that values professional development, staff wellbeing, and community engagement. About you
We are looking for a values-driven, passionate and strategic leader with a background in not-for-profit management. The ideal candidate will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services, Social Sciences, Business, or Finance. At least five years of senior leadership experience, preferably in the community services or childcare sector. Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and secure funding from diverse sources. Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, risk management, and operational oversight. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to social justice and community outcomes. A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach to leadership.
