Description Chief Engineer responsible for entire engineering operations, managing team and budget to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Key responsibilities include ensuring Australian building compliance, acting as Chief Fire Warden, championing environmental initiatives, and maintaining hotel assets.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee engineering operations for exterior and interior facilities, including electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and more. Manage maintenance staff, ensuring systems like HVAC and fire safety are functioning properly. Implement and maintain preventative maintenance program to ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order. Monitor and coordinate services performed by outside contractors. Collaborate with departments like Housekeeping and Front Office to ensure seamless operations. Plan, implement, and administer preventive maintenance and energy management programs. Ensure hotel compliance with local codes and regulations related to safety and environmental standards. Manage maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving measures. Coordinate renovation bidding and oversee general contractor and subcontractors. Requirements: Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering. Motivated, self-driven, with a passion for delivering consistency. Flexibility with rostering and available 24/7 in case of an emergency. High communication and collaborative skills. Superior communicator and negotiating skills. Possess knowledge of government regulations and technical rules. Previous facilities management experience preferably within Hotels and Hospitality. Hands-on and approachable leader with previous experience managing and training a team. Proficient with computers and relevant computer programs. Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting principles.
