Chief Engineer - Hobart - Accor Hotels

DescriptionWe are looking for a Chief Engineer to oversee engineering operations and initiatives at our 221-room premium hotel in Hobart. As the cornerstone of our engineering department, you will lead a team, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of complex projects. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping the future of our engineering practices and achieving our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and carry out preventative maintenance to ensure standards are maintained for a positive guest experience.Maintain contractor records and ensure work permits are obtained before commencement.Ensure all contractors are inducted to site in accordance with Hotel policies.Quarterly audit reporting and monthly maintenance reporting.Research and recommend procedures to improve the overall efficiency of the department.Prepare and submit capex proposals and manage capex projects.Stay current with industry trends and advancements. Requirements: Demonstrated experience as a Chief Engineer or similar role.Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a maintenance function within a large multi-story building.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or trade qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.The ability to carry out emergency maintenance works outside of normal working hours.
