The Role: We are seeking an experienced Chef to oversee our restaurant's kitchen, effectively managing kitchen staff and deciding on dishes to serve while adjusting orders to meet guests' preferences.
All work will be conducted in a fully functioning, very clean and organised kitchen. Applicants must have excellent time management skills, knowledge of various food varieties and ingredients, strong communication skills, and the ability to accept customer feedback to improve future experiences.
Duties: Cook guests' orders according to their preferences;Employ food safety best practices and ensure all kitchen staff follow suit;Act with caution in a potentially hazardous environment where knives and high-temperature surfaces are present;Select choice ingredients to enhance dish flavour;Determine food quantities and maintain an appropriate supply at the restaurant through regular stock takes;Work efficiently during busy periods, such as weekends and large functions;Take on extra duties like cleaning when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy;Take direction and collaborate with the restaurant's administrative team.Qualifications and Requirements: Relevant qualifications required; however, 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualification;A minimum of 3 years of experience as a chef in a similar restaurant setting;Menu planning and creation of new dishes;Oversee pre-planning requirements of food and ordering necessary supplies;Ensure quality dishes are prepared and presented;Manage the kitchen, including staffing needs and training;Experience in upholding proper health and safety standards in the kitchen;Knowledge of industry trends to ensure the business operates in line with market demands.Salary Range: $73,150 - $75,000
