Location Central QLD is the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Like nowhere else, the Gladstone Region is a striking juxtaposition of industry and pristine environment of the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef, including the iconic Town of 1770/Agnes Water, rural hinterland and striking sandstone wilderness.
The Role The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Maintaining and improving laundry floor output ie.
sorting, washing, finishing and packing linen to fulfil customer orders daily to strict timetables.
Preparing and recommending proposals to revise methods and procedures, alter workflows, redefine job functions and resolve organisational problems with the main goal being to improve productivity by analysing and evaluating current systems and structures.
Assisting and encouraging the development of objectives, strategies and plans aimed at achieving customer satisfaction and the efficient use of CLS resources.
Managing a team of around 100 people with suitable skillsets, attitude and performance aligned to meet company benchmarks.
Preparing, monitoring and better financial forecasts including weekly KPI's.
Creation and authorisation of staff rosters across split shifts.
Hiring and oversight of new employee training.
The oversight and allocation of resources to ensure all P&E is operating at optimal performance.
Positive interaction with all customers to ensure trading relationships are long-term and discussing business and organisational shortcomings with clients.
The coordination of logistics between customers and the laundry floor.
Working within established WH&S systems and processes locally in sync with company-wide operations and proactively identifying improvements.
Working Monday to Friday and some weekends during times of peak demand (typically holiday periods).
Undertaking and reviewing work studies by analysing existing and proposed methods and procedures including discussing current systems with staff and observing systems at all levels of organisation.
Assisting in implementing approved recommendations, issuing revised instructions and procedure manuals such as recording and analysing organisations' workflow, records, reports, manuals and job descriptions.
Reviewing operating procedures and advising of departures from procedures and standards.
Reporting to the Group General Manager, your skillset should be: Capable of creating a positive and safe environment in which internal staff and management proactively meet and exceed company benchmarks.
Able to quickly learn and improve current workflow.
Analytical so as to understand what drives better operational and financial outcomes.
Willing to be active on the laundry floor to engage with staff and operations first-hand.
Practical and Pragmatic so that priorities can be quickly identified and actioned.
Communicating professionally and positively at all times to all stakeholders, internal and external.
Highly competent using a suite of Microsoft and other industry applicable software.
Qualifications/Experience that would be advantageous would be: Any Electrical or R&M Fitting trades.
Any HR qualifications or experience.
Any WH&S qualifications or experience.
A Boilers Operational licence.
A Light Rigid or greater Driving licence.
C Class Drivers Licence is mandatory.
Laundry experience, whilst welcomed, is not a prerequisite.

A Salary Package will be negotiated based on your experience ranging from $100-120K to start.
This position is available immediately, but a commencement date can be flexible.
