About the role We have an opportunity for a dynamic Category Manager to join the Coles Procurement team. Reporting into the Senior Category Manager, Capex, Ops & Automation, this is a key role in maximising values whilst managing third party risk, developing and executing capital goods & services plans to deliver sustainable, innovative outcomes. You will also: Work with contract managers to maintain Coles' Third-Party Risk Management processes and meet Coles' commitment to engage with suppliers ethically, responsibly, and fairly. Represent Coles as a commercial partner for engagements across Supermarkets, Liquor, and Coles Local. Commercial lead for negotiations with supplier counterparts to realise benefits & mitigations, including key commercial items and contract formalisation. Develop and execute key sourcing initiatives/projects to conclusion whilst maintaining ongoing alignment with key business customers and other relevant stakeholders. Support the Senior Category Manager with market research, commodity tracking, strategy development and sensitivity analysis to support the ongoing management of contracts and categories. About you and your skills Success in this role will be achieving or exceeding annual efficiency targets set against category plans, achieved through commercial dealings with suppliers and internal customers. This will require you to have well-developed commercial experience, with demonstrated experience developing, executing, and maintaining category strategy and vision across a range of categories. You will also have: Related tertiary qualification, ideally with Commerce, Legal, or Procurement background. Strong experience in procurement or in the commercial management industry. Demonstrated experience in sourcing, project management, data analysis and negotiations. Influence stakeholders with persuasive recommendations and arguments, underpinned with strong oral and written communication skills. Interpretation and application of relevant legislation and regulations as it relates to the purchase and supply of goods and services. Experience in contract dispute resolution. What's in it for you?
