The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Case Worker to join the Inner South office on a part-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
Investigating child protection matters, case management of children and their families, writing and actioning case plans and maintaining client files.Connecting clients to appropriate services and formal and informal community networks.Visiting children in alternative care and providing support and assistance as required.Facilitating opportunities for children under the Guardianship of the Minister to build healthy identities.Undertaking child and family support project work and other duties with cultural awareness and sensitivity.About You To be successful in this role, you will have experience in dealing with conflict situations, including managing complex and challenging behaviours of parents and children.
Drawing upon your demonstrated experience in providing high level advice and assistance to clients and staff will enhance your ability to maintain positive, collaborative and respectful working relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders.
You will have the passion and ability to initiate opportunities and identify innovative solutions to enhance child safety outcomes for families living in remote Aboriginal communities using your knowledge of the Children and Young People (Safety) Act (CYPS) Act, and Families and Communities Act.
