First for Flooring have had the pleasure of working on many timber floor laying projects of various sizes in Melbourne, our services are contracted by numerous suppliers within the timber flooring industry and we have received several recommendations for our timber floor work.
We are looking for a talented carpenter who takes pride in creating stunning work. If you are passionate about craftsmanship and love working in dynamic environments, we have the perfect opportunity for you.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
• Analyse blueprints and technical specifications to identify necessary materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
• Source and select wood and other materials and develop layouts for efficient use.
• Cut, shape, and assemble components, ensuring precise measurements and fit.
• Construct frameworks and roof structures, lay subflooring, and install floorboards, while checking for level and accuracy.
• Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, and attach exterior wall cladding, along with door and window frames.
• Assemble cut wood to create structural elements and fittings for installation.
• Create joints in wood to enhance stability and strength of constructions.
• Build concrete forms as needed for various projects.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on existing fixtures, focusing on both structural integrity and aesthetic finishes.
• Work with a variety of materials, including plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals, to fulfill project requirements.
Other Skills and Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong mathematical skills to calculate dimensions and quantities accurately.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity for handling tools and materials.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent
