Role: The job involves renovating and restoring high-end timber homes in Melbourne. You'll do various carpentry tasks like framing, installing trusses, building subfloors, and installing cladding. You'll also need to understand plans and work well with a team to ensure the projects are finished to a high standard.
Responsibilities: Study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures.Order and select timbers and materials and prepare layouts.Cut materials and assemble and nail cut and shaped parts.Erect framework and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and verify trueness of structures.Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames.Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.Cut wood to fit together.May repair existing fittings.May work with plastic laminates, perspex, and metals.Do daily carpentry work.Lead other workers on the site.Complete daily time sheets and site diary.Read plans and interpret to those around them.Perform carpentry maintenance and installations.Implement and maintain safe WHS work practices.Report progress updates and detailed completion of job cards.Schedule and order material as needed.Skills & Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified carpenterBe able to work unsupervisedRead and interpret plansWork with apprenticesAbility to be versatile and apply skills to new problemsRequirements: Own toolsOwn vehicleWhite cardSalary Package: $70,000-$75,000 + Superannuation.
