Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Career Medical Officer (CMO) to join Royal Prince Alfred Hospital! Location: Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers specialty services from its main campus as well as at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics. RPA is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing tertiary and quaternary health services and an extensive range of diagnostic and interventional Radiology services.
The Role This position is looking for a medical practitioner with experience in Interventional Radiology. The position will provide clinical care to patients accessing interventional Radiology (IR) Services offered by the RPA Radiology Department, primarily at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. The IR CMO will be performing procedures under the direction of Interventional Radiology Consultants. Responsibilities include assessment of patients for their suitability for intervention, pre and post-procedure review of patients, supervision of junior doctors, and facilitating teamwork among nurses and radiographers during clinical shifts.
Holds a current medical practitioner registration or is eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with at least seven years of full-time clinical experience in a relevant area of practice.Has a high level of proficiency in IR procedures and familiarity with oncology Interventional Radiology service.Will operate in a diverse range of imaging settings and participate in the care of patients from multiple clinical disciplines and settings.Be a key member of the team guiding a patient through their imaging encounter particularly in the interventional settings.Applications Close: 12 November 2024
