We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager within the Logistics business of Unipart Group Australia located in Tullamarine, Melbourne.
The Business Development Manager will act as an ambassador for Unipart Logistics in the marketplace by developing long-term, strategic relationships up to the most senior levels in support of growth.
The BDM will work closely with the Territory Director Australia and the Managing Director APAC to ensure the BD strategy is executed at the expected level.
Role responsibilities:Develop a multi-sector pipeline of new business opportunities that vary in size and maturation.Win new business up to and exceeding the target set by the annual growth plan for Australia.Leverage your known contacts and network in support of Unipart's growth ambitions.Work with the Territory Director (Aus) to maintain and refine the BD strategy that defines which customers, which sectors and which services we will target to expand our business.Support the Territory Director (Aus) on our overall Unipart offerings based on customer insights from each sector, and using various global support functions to provide the necessary technical design input.Be responsible for delivering on our value propositions and how to communicate those more effectively including working with the UL Marketing global team.Be accountable for the delivery of sector mapping, research, opportunity identification and development.Complete sales report presentations and proposals.Present clear and precise details of tenders to the Territory Director (Aus) ensuring new business meets our profitability targets.Provide a Marketing plan that effectively and positively impacts our overall strategy and growth plans, including digital marketing concepts.To be successful in the role you will need:Experience in a similar role within the logistics and supply chain industry is an advantage.A proven track record in winning ideally large logistics and warehousing contracts - knowledge and understanding of our 7 core industry sectors would be highly desirable.The ability to build strong, strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.A tenacious approach to 'hunting' for new business and relationships.The ability to influence at all levels.Impeccable commercial and financial acumen.Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal as well as interpersonal skills.Well-developed organizational and problem-solving skills and confidence and ability to present proposals to customers and potential clients.Experience:A minimum of 5 years experience within a similar role in the 3PL and supply chain industry is an advantage.Sales, Business Development and Account Management experience.Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of pricing/margin.Experience negotiating and managing contracts.What do we offer?An opportunity to develop a career within a global market leader.Full training and support to get you started.Learning opportunities through our global online learning management system.Onsite parking.Car leasing options.Employee Assistance Program.Flexible Working arrangements.Unipart Group Australia acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands across Australia as the continuing custodians of country and culture.
