What you'll be doing: The Business Development Manager is crucial in helping Virgin Australia Business Flyer (VABF) reach its growth targets by fostering new and dynamic partnerships.
Reporting to the Head of SME Loyalty and working closely with the Head of Business Development, this role will focus on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive revenue and expand the program.
The manager will target verticals where the current coalition of partners is underrepresented.
Additionally, the Business Development Manager will be key in shaping and implementing the partnership strategy for the program, ensuring effective and commercially sound agreements with partners.
You'll be great in this role if you: Have 5-8+ years of commercial experience in selling within key sectors including financial servicesPossess in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, with a preference for experience in cards and payments.Demonstrate a proven track record of securing multi-million-dollar deals, from initial contact to final closure.Understand loyalty programs and airline frequent flyer concepts.Excel in consultative selling with meticulous attention to detail.Show thought leadership through innovative problem-solving, sound judgment, and effective risk management.Exhibit high resilience, staying focused and motivated in the face of challenges.Have strong networking and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining senior-level relationships.Possess stakeholder management skills, including communication, planning, and managing expectations.Demonstrate commercial awareness and business acumen.Showcase financial acumen through numerical and quantitative skills, and the ability to build and assess business cases.Deliver exceptional presentations to all levels, including C-Suite executives.Have experience with complex contract management and negotiation.Hold a tertiary degree or equivalent qualification.What you'll get from us: We're committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):
