It also delivers efficient and effective shared services in support of all aspects of the University’s business.Within the COO Portfolio, Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is the central facilitator of research funding, industry engagement and commercialisation in the University.About the roleThe Business Development Associate reports to the Manager – Initiatives, Business Development & Innovation (RIC), and is responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, as endorsed by the Director of the Business Development & Innovation, that will support the operations of the function.The successful candidate must have the ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationships with other RIC staff and key stakeholders in Chancellery, University Services and Academic Divisions, and the ability to develop a thorough understanding of the University of Melbourne’s policies and procedures as they relate to the activities associated with the role.About youYou will have:Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience and expertise in the delivery of commercially focused services within a complex organisation (tertiary education sector desirable); or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.Demonstrated understanding of business development and commercial operations with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in operational roles in complex business environments.Ability to provide user friendly, responsive and high-quality client service, delivering the outcomes required and with a proactive, can-do attitude.
