Insurance Property Risk Engineer - Commercial & Industrial Properties
Asset Inspect is an established and well-respected national company providing property-related consultancy services to the insurance industry.
We are searching for an insurance property risk engineer who is passionate about inspecting properties.
This unique full-time role as a Property Risk Engineer will see you travelling across Sydney and beyond, conducting on-site inspections of a broad range of mostly commercial and industrial properties, from high-end restaurants, hotels and resorts, wineries, office buildings, factories, warehouses, strata buildings, marinas, aged care facilities, and farm properties.
You'll use your insurance or property inspection expertise to provide a detailed building description, detail fire equipment and security measures, assess risks, and prepare reports for our insurance clients.
The Property Risk Engineer will be on the road full-time, attend pre-arranged appointments, and use mobile software to collect building data on-site, including using UAV drones (training provided).
Whilst most inspections are within the metropolitan areas of Sydney, regular regional and interstate travel is required (at least one week away every three weeks, with some overnight trips in between).
The position is suited to those with a Risk Engineering, Risk Surveying, Loss Adjusting, Underwriting, Property Inspection, or Fire Technology background. You can use your building knowledge and inspection skills. We provide training along with ongoing mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out inspections of mostly commercial and industrial properties Detail building construction materials Identify and detail fire equipment installed Identify any potential risk hazards and apply relevant risk improvement solutions Measure building size in square metres Take photos of buildings, including aerial drone photos of the roof Ability to travel regionally and interstate regularly Prior property inspection experience High standard of knowledge of commercial building construction materials and fire equipment Ability to write and present cohesive, coherent, and technically sound reports IT competent Valid driver's license Successfully pass a national police check Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency status Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team Highly organised and able to manage & prioritise workloads while adhering to client deadlines A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving Excellent customer service and communication skills Education / Qualification Requirements:
Diploma / Degree / Tertiary qualification in either Engineering, Property, Real Estate, Valuation, Fire Technology, Insurance, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or Loss Adjusting Candidates who successfully meet the selection criteria will be invited for an interview. Short-listed applicants will be required to successfully pass a national police check and have background/reference checks conducted.
