Provide an effective reception service.The position is required to make administrative decisions relating to the interpretation of Department policies and procedures.The position is responsible and accountable for assisting with the management of waiting lists in accordance with Queensland Health.About youOur ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:Greet patients and/or their relatives professionally and courteously on arrival or by other forms of communications to the Department and ensure clinical questions are referred to the appropriate clinical area/Clinician or Supervisor in a timely manner.Demonstrated ability to remain calm and show empathy, understanding and patience as the first point of service ensuring that patient care is the priority and focus.Confidently communicates with all levels of staff and clients, understanding and anticipating needs, including undertaking investigations to find and implement solutions to meet those needs whilst demonstrating a positive service focus.Proactively plans, organises, and manages own time effectively to produce results within set timeframes, while remaining flexible and open to change. Demonstrates an understanding of their own workload and the team's work and actions impacting internal stakeholders and shares relevant information.Demonstrate initiative and flexibility to improve administrative systems as part of continuous improvement.Advanced skills in the use of information technology to facilitate the identification of errors and ensure a high level of data quality.
