Role A Big Life program is a collaboration between Brauer College, Warrnambool College, Grasmere Primary School, Koroit & District Primary School, Woodford Primary School, Woolsthorpe Primary School, Warrnambool West Primary School and Merrivale Primary School (collectively known as the Schools), and the Warrnambool Student Wellbeing Association. The program is guided by the 5 big life questions and themes associated, which are at the heart of personal development. Aiming to build young people¿s level of resilience through social and emotional learning, in order to promote and safeguard young people¿s mental health. The questions are: How do I relate to people who are different to me? (Living with difference) How can I love and be loved? (Relationships and sexuality) What is the meaning of life? (Spirituality and purposeful occupation) How do I make family work ¿ even if I haven¿t got one or don¿t want mine? (Family in the 21st century) What do I do when bad things happen? (Grief and loss) The ideal candidate will be an experienced Secondary School teacher and support the delivery of BIG LIFE in our secondary schools. Ideally, this person will have an understanding and experience in using School Wide Positive Behaviour, Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships Curriculum and trauma informed approaches/Berry Street Education Model.
The position will include: 
Deliver Secondary School lessons as required.  Development of content suitable for newsletters, social media platforms, and school communication mediums (eg. compass).  Preparation of resources for classroom delivery. Coaching, mentoring, supporting staff in health promotion, social and emotional learning and building resilience.  Use of Google suite, Microsoft 365, Compass, and Canva, for planning, development of resources, teamwork and communications.  Collaborate and consult with Students, Staff, Wellbeing teams, Leadership teams for the delivery of Big Life in schools. Being responsible for adhering to the school's policy and procedures. This job may also include opportunities, as the need arises for:
Plan and support delivery of wellbeing/student leadership days, in line with the Big Life Footpath and `The Schools¿ needs. Support the BIg Walk event. Support schools to deliver Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships curriculum and meet their Department requirements. Support Big Life Team to deliver Big Life initiatives in primary and secondary school contexts. Responsibilities The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school; Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal; Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
