• Work for The Supreme Court of Victoria (the 'Court') is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.• Support Honourable Justice Watson in the management and co-ordination of their judicial, ceremonial, court management, administrative and legal research responsibilities.• Full-time ongoing, VPS3.1, Melbourne CBD location.

About the Role The Honourable Justice Watson is seeking a legally qualified individual to be his Associate commencing in March 2025. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Duties include: Assisting with the production of judgments, including proofreading and editingReviewing files and ordersPerforming administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the judge in courtPreparing research memorandaTravelling on circuit when requiredLiaising with court staff, the public, the media and the professionAbout You Qualifications in LawExcellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in person, and via written communication to members of the legal profession, the public and the mediaExcellent proofreading and writing skills, proficiency in grammar and an excellent academic recordHow to apply Click the 'Apply Now' button, ensuring you include the following in your application:
