About this role We are currently welcoming applications from individuals from a professional accounting background for the role of Senior Associate in our specialist Forensic Accounting team in Brisbane.
As well as accountants with some forensic experience, we also encourage applications from those looking to transition into forensics from another accounting specialism (such as audit or private advisory), whose intellectual curiosity and analytical mindset lend themselves to a bright future in this highly sought-after field.
About the team The Forensic Accounting team brings together a diverse group of accomplished professionals from a range of backgrounds, offering different perspectives and skillsets and collaborating under an ethos of inclusion and belonging.
Our Brisbane team primarily undertakes Dispute Advisory assignments.

Assessment of loss and damage suffered for a Group of claimants as part of class action proceedingsValuation of a minority interest in a large Queensland-based manufacturer as part of Shareholder Oppression proceedingsAssessment of economic loss in large insurance litigation claimsComplex valuations for family law and estate disputesDispute arising under a purchase and sale agreement for the sale of a chain of retail storesReview of transactions across several financial years to identify misreporting of transactions and alleged fraudKey responsibilities As part of our national Forensics team, you will have the opportunity to work across our offices on a diverse range of engagements, providing bespoke advice to clients on a variety of matters including business valuations, commercial loss and damage claims, losses arising from insured events and investigations.
Review disparate financial information and identify critical financial elements to the disputeIdentify documents that will assist in the determination of issues in disputeLiaise with clients and referrers in relation to obtaining information and communicating outcomesDetailed review and analysis of the financial performance of a businessResearch and analysis of a variety of business, industry and economic data and informationAnalysis and calculations as part of the valuation processAssist in the preparation of forensic accounting reports for use in Court settingsSkills and experience The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $115,000 AUD per annum, inclusive of superannuation and commensurate with experience.
Required Experience in an accounting environment, with a solid understanding of accounting concepts and financial statementsExcellent written and spoken English communication skillsAnalytical and critical thinking skills, having an open mind and strong attention to detailWell organised and developed time management skills, with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines and initiative to adapt to rapidly changing circumstancesStrong IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office suite (primarily Excel)Qualification(s) and / or professional accreditation(s) in a relevant discipline such as Accounting, Commerce, or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)Forensic accounting and / or valuation skills preferred, but not essentialIf you are interested in this role but don't feel that you match every single one of our requirements, we would still love to hear from you and explore the unique skillset and attributes that you can bring to the team.
