About the Role
The Associate Director for the Office of Indigenous Employment and Development (OIED) will spearhead innovative Indigenous employment, development, and cultural engagement initiatives, driving the University's Indigenous Employment Plan. This role will implement strategic vision and operational acumen, overseeing daily operations while shaping the OIED's future.
Responsibilities include: Provide strategic advice to senior leadership and represent the OIED on university-wide initiatives. Oversee team performance, conduct annual reviews, and foster a supportive and inclusive work environment. Lead key programs, projects, and initiatives related to Indigenous employment, development, and cultural engagement. Align programs and projects with the University's strategic direction, including Indigenous Employment Plan and People Plan. About You
You should be a strong people leader with a proven ability to build relationships and a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures. You excel in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous communities and external partners, to drive positive change.
You will also have:
Extensive experience in leading and managing programs focused on Indigenous employment, staff development, or community engagement. Demonstrated ability to design, manage, and deliver complex programs aligned with strategic priorities. Extensive knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians. High-level organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple functions and meet competing deadlines. About the University
