Approximately 62% of our students are from a language background other than English.
The school includes five multi-categorical (MC) support classes for students with a disability.
Bella Vista PS incorporates an innovative educational model, including flexible teaching and learning spaces organised into distinct home bases / specialist teaching spaces.
The school uses Microsoft tools as a platform for teaching and learning.
The school has an active P and C Association.
Current priorities of the school include literacy and numeracy excellence, innovative teaching, student well-being and school culture.

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary demonstrated capacity to work as part of a dynamic leadership team and balance exemplary classroom practice with the complexities of a leadership role. The ability to initiate, lead and evaluate a culture of continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy driven by data-informed practice, current curriculum expertise and evidenced-based research. Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate visible and genuine collaboration, consultation and engagement with staff, parents and the wider community. A high level of empathy and complex problem-solving skills to best meet the learning and well-being needs of students to build upon a positive and inclusive school. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
