Assistant OR Registered Commercial Building Surveyor - HobartTHE COMPANYOur client is a mid-size building surveying firm in Tasmania that looks after residential and commercial developments.
THE ROLEReporting through to the Company Director, this role will require a solid understanding of researching, analysing, advising, assessing, and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and standards relating to building construction and occupant safety in buildings of all classes and of unlimited size.
To be successful in this role, the Building Surveyor (BS-C) will be adept at providing advice on building control legislation and/or building policy matters and will take an active role in training and mentoring other team members.
This role would suit a senior building surveyor or a junior building surveyor with 1+ years of experience who is willing to learn.
Assessing, approving, and inspecting building works.Assessing compliance with legislative requirements, approval of building and use changes, determining upgrades for existing buildings, building audits, compliance, and enforcement matters beyond the building approval process.Facilitating the regulatory approval process.Acting as a consultant on design, fire safety, energy efficiency, and access solutions.Providing education and expert witness services in support of the legal process as required.Supporting the Company Director in complex matters and providing advice and guidance to the technical team.Providing technical guidance and peer review to other Commercial Team technical employees.Offering mentoring to junior technical employees.ABOUT YOU Licensed Building Surveyor (preferred but open to candidates who aren't accredited but have 1+ years of experience).Driver's license.Industry white card.Experience with the Tasmania Building Legislative Framework. #J-18808-Ljbffr
