The Assistant Director General – People Services is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Government's commitment to deliver the nuclear-powered submarine program by leading key Human Resource services across the Australian Submarine Agency including recruiting the APS workforce; nuclear-powered submarine program culture and people policies; career development programs for staff, management of graduate and early entry programs; providing support for visits; and providing pastoral care support to Australian personnel posted overseas.This is a key role where you will lead and build a team of qualified and experienced people including ADF members, public service officers, and contractors to manage and advise on Human Resources.
You will be required to manage relationships across Government and establish effective relationships with industry and our AUKUS counterparts.As a member of the senior leadership group, you must be able to promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and agility.
You must also be able to effectively manage complex legislative and ethical frameworks to achieve capability outcomes for Defence and the Australian Government.Australia's defence policy is founded on the principle of self-reliance in the direct defence of Australia, but with a capacity to do more where there are shared interests with partners and allies.
