Strategic Finance, Finance Business Partners provide Directorate managers and executive members with accurate and timely financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and budgeting information through quality financial management advice and support.As the Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of financial outcomes and compliant financial operations.
This will include budget, resource, and stakeholder management as well as overall strategic financial planning across sections of Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development (EPSDD).The team operates in a high-paced and dynamic environment.
The Finance Business Partner team acts in a supportive manner, with ample opportunity to apply strategic thinking and build on your communication and critical analysis skills.The Position:Under limited direction, the Assistant Director, Finance Business Partners main responsibilities are, but not limited to:Take carriage of the day-to-day financial management of business units, including:Monthly account analyses and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the ledger's financial information resulting from daily transactional activities.Providing high-level strategic financial advice on matters such as planning, commitments, resource management, budget, and forecast development and management.Timely preparation of financial and management accounting reports, including advice to Senior Management and Executives on financial performance and expenditure projections across BAU and Initiative funding.Managing the development and implementation of internal budgets, including forecasting.Provide advice and assistance in the development of business cases, including costing activities, ensuring appropriate treatment in line with relevant Accounting Standards and policies.Undertake high-level research, reviews, or investigations, including drafting and preparation of reports, executive level briefs, replies to Parliamentary questions, Ministerial representations, and other briefing material.Provide advice to the Chief Finance Officer and the Senior Management Team on financial trends across business areas.Support the development, implementation, and management of robust and appropriate financial controls and policy frameworks in close consultation with internal stakeholders.Contribute to the delivery of the day-to-day activities of the Strategic Finance Team with a view to delivering the unit's common business goals and objectives.As directed, undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experiences, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
