We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Coordinator to join our team at YMCA Pacific Pines Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.
This is a permanent, part-time position.
Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during the school term and 38 hours during vacation care time.
In this position, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators.
You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager, and the OSHC Manager.
Your workspace at the Y
YMCA Pacific Pines Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located on the Yugambeh land.
We are part of a multi-cultural and linguistically diverse community at Pacific Pines Primary School.
We are located in the school hall and have a large area available both inside and outside.
Our children are very active and love participating in sports activities.
We are licensed for 105 children and offer Before and After School care as well as vacation care between 6:30am to 6pm.
We offer a menu full of options such as vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free which reflects on our children's eating habits and needs.
We strongly believe that children learn through play which can vary from spontaneous activities to planned learning opportunities that reflect the children's interests and their skills.
Our service philosophy prioritises community and belonging, children's agency, and the importance of spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood.
We offer a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.
As an OSHC Assistant Coordinator you will assist with:
The development of quality programs; Manage the day-to-day running of the programs; Support the Coordinator with staff management; Ensure compliance with policy; Undertake administrative requirements; Work collaboratively with families and the school community.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services); Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare; Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain; Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain; NQF knowledge would be advantageous.
