About the role: As an Assistant Accountant, your primary focus will be supporting the finance team across a broad spectrum of accounting and finance activities. Your day-to-day tasks will involve general ledger processing, management reporting, corporate restructuring, assisting with financial statements, tax returns, and collaborating with global finance teams. This role provides a unique opportunity to grow your career in accounting, gain exposure to international finance operations, and develop your skills within an Australian consolidated group operating as a Managed Investment Trust (MIT).
Support the finance team across various accounting and finance activities Assist with general ledger processing and management reporting Participate in corporate restructuring and preparation of financial statements and tax returns Process accounts receivable and payable accurately and timely Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies Support month-end and year-end closing activities Prepare and analyse financial reports and statements Assist with internal and external audits Benefits: Competitive remuneration: $60,000 - $70,000 + Super + Additional Leave + Benefits Full role autonomy, allowing you to create your own path to success A fun and social team, regular social events and exciting company trips (the team just got back from a ski trip in NZ!) Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices A Bachelor's degree in Accounting Career driven and self-motivated Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (XERO, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle experience helpful) Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
