About the role
The Asset Planning Engineer – Infrastructure Facilities plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of V/Line's rail network. By developing and implementing comprehensive Asset Management Plans (AMPs) and Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) Programs, this role directly contributes to the optimal lifecycle management of infrastructure facilities.
Key accountabilities include:

Validate and Process Nominations: Review and validate MPM nominations using inspection reports, historical records, GIS tools, and process them according to established procedures.
Develop Lifecycle Strategies: Create and implement lifecycle management strategies for inclusion in Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
Conduct Assessments and Validations: Evaluate fleet maintenance facilities, conduct site validations, and facilitate stakeholder workshops.
Prepare Project Briefs: Develop Stage Gate 1 Project Briefs outlining project scope, options, and cost estimates.
Plan and Monitor Workbank: Organize the annual workbank for the MPM Program, monitor progress, and reschedule to maintain budget.
Enhance Asset Management Practices: Implement methodologies like ACCRI, RCA, and RCM, and align practices with ISO standards.
Collaborate and Report: Work with the Asset Lifecycle Planning team, develop technical papers, budget submissions, and assist in obtaining state funding for fleet maintenance and facilities.

About you
We seek a motivated Asset Planning Engineer with a strong background in asset management for infrastructure facilities. The ideal candidate will excel in developing and implementing Asset Management Plans (AMPs) and Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) Programs, possess excellent analytical skills, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Vast experience in infrastructure facilities or building services, with knowledge of infrastructure asset management.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, using ERP systems, and GIS tools.
Strong ability to prioritize, plan, and solve complex problems.
Excellent engagement skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to respond flexibly to changing project dynamics and work within a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge of ISO standards and commitment to maintaining accreditation.
Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Mandatory

Tertiary qualification in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
Valid Driver's License

Desirable

Level 1 Train Track Safety Awareness (TTSA) / Personal Track Safety (PTS); willingness to obtain.
Construction Induction Training (White Card).
