As a key member of the planning team, you'll oversee the maintenance of assets to ensure they fulfill their intended purposes.Your responsibilities will include managing direct work teams and contractors to achieve business objectives while upholding safety and performance standards. As part of the Trackside Systems team, you will be pivotal in providing infrastructure maintenance, rail traffic management services, inventory management and support for regional Queensland.The role requires flexibility to travel and work across the northern Queensland regional business, additionally, you may be required to participate in an on-call roster, with duties typically occurring one week in every five.Duties include:Manage installation, maintenance and renewal activities within acceptable risk levelProvide effective and efficient coordination of required resources to meet defined work schedulesProvide expert operational advice to the Asset Manager and Asset Planning Coordinator for the strategic development of asset management plans, corridor plans, schedules and project submissionsCoach and manage staff training, development, performance, succession planning and recruitment in accordance with standards, specifications, procedures and legislative requirementsAchieve financial targets through effective management of costs for labour, inventory, consumables, plant, equipment and other assetsManage inventory management processes for major infrastructure materials held in stockAbout you:You are a highly organised and resilient individual with experience leading a team.Our ideal candidate will possess:An Australian Drivers LicenceExperience supervising staff, work activities and resourcesExperienced in carrying out technical investigations, implementing improvement initiatives, undertaking audits and monitoring performanceProficient in budget monitoring and control techniques, with a solid understanding of relevant legislationExtensive experience in the coordination and deployment of resourcesAdvanced financial management skillsBenefits That CountAll that Queensland Rail achieves each day relies on the hard work and talent of our teams.
