Full timeSalary Package: $118,193 - $133,322 (plus super)As a Divisional Defence EL1 Capability Analyst, you will exercise a considerable degree of independence and bring or develop subject matter expertise relevant to your role.
You will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert advice on mission data capability, policy and or analytic services.
You will work with a high degree of independence in a high performing team.
You will manage complex relationships and represent MD as required in various Defence and other government fora.
You will engage in problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that affect strategic, political or operational outcomes for ASD, Defence or the National Intelligence Community.You will analyse complex to very complex ADF capability requirements, policy, program issues, and recommend courses of action.Accountable for effectively communicating, sharing own expertise with others and guiding and mentoring team members to achieve continuous improvement in the work area.Lead and be accountable for the development of timely and high quality assessments and submissions relating to capability development within Defence and NIC.Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate effectively to deliver business outcomes.Research, draft and prepare briefs, complex correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.Provide advice to senior leadership on issues that pose a risk across all existing and potential projects and/or programs.Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternate courses of action.About our TeamMission Data (MD) Division within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is responsible for providing the data and AI/ML capabilities to support all of ASD's functions and extending that support to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and National Intelligence Community (NIC).Divisional Defence Engagement within MD is seeking staff with a passion for appreciating the strategic context, excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills with the ability to operate in a complex environment contributing to supporting Mission Data Division delivering tangible outcomes.Divisional Defence Engagement focus areas include:Identifying opportunities and risks to fulfilling ASD, and Australian Defence Force mission data system and analytic requirements, even in competition and conflict.Representing MD to position ASD to contribute to the Defence Integrated Investment Program to meet the Australian Defence Force capability objectives of the National Defence Strategy.Our Ideal CandidateAs the ideal candidate, you can develop and manage complex relationships across Defence ADF community, National Intelligence Community and other government stakeholders to enable Mission Data Division to shape, influence and deliver data capability and analytic solutions to meet mutual requirements.
