This enterprise is the only organisation of its kind in Central Australia.
Bindi also provides a range of innovative community participation options for individuals to develop skills and training in a wide range of work practices, contracted employment, artistic development commercial industries and independent living skills.
The Arts Support Worker role is to provide person centred support to adult artists and other participants in the workplace, which enhances their quality of life and creates workplace solutions that are flexible and innovative while generating income for People we Support and the organisation.
Duties of an Arts Support Worker are: Assisting in the day-to-day activities in the Bindi Enterprises art departments and other programs and motivating the people we support Implement individual and group programs that assist people to develop artistic and creative skills Liaise with stakeholders such as NDIS and Support Coordinators to ensure best outcomes for the people we support Use SAM Database to prepare consignments for galleries, archive artworks and process sales Assist in documenting and cataloguing artworks ready for sale Assist curating and hanging exhibitions Take customer sales over the phone, email, in the gallery and or at art fairs Prepare and maintain art materials Assist in marketing and promotion of the Bindi Enterprises programs and products Create a workplace environment that reflects the needs, culture and aspiration of the people we support Be prepared to assist with personal care needs Actively participate in team meetings and work closely with the Supervisors and other Art Support Workers What you will bring to make a difference in other's lives: Previous experience supporting people with a disability and/or challenging behaviour, preferably in an education or employment environment Knowledge of local community networks, training and employment opportunities Background in the visual arts sector and experience working cross culturally Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and relate well to people we support and their families Computer literate with competent administration and documentation skills First Aid certificate, NDIS Workers Clearance and full unrestricted driver's licence Certificate III/IV in Disabilities, Community Services, Social Sciences, Youth Work will be highly regarded although not essential Degree or similar qualification or experience in Fine Arts is preferred Up to date Covid vaccinations Some of the areas you may work in as an Arts Support Worker are: Digital Arts Program Bindi Artists Studio Gallery and Front Desk Administration Timber Workshop Corporate Contracts Department Join Us - Next steps: All applications must be lodged online by 5pm 29th November 2024.
