Richmond - NSW $91,702 - $104,753 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation The Role The APS 6 Project Manager is responsible for managing a range of complex Air Mobility project activities, supporting the C-130J Hercules and the C-27J Spartan aircraft and associate systems.
Your experience and knowledge in the Project Management space will directly support the Royal Australian Air Force to specify, plan and deliver capability enhancement projects as a major component of the role.
You will engage with primary contractors and suppliers to effectively monitor, manage and report on contractor performance.
As the APS 6 Project Manager, you will be responsible for: Providing decision support for members and stakeholders.
Oversight of project schedules, deliverables, risks and issues.
Management of project quality, performance and resources.
Managing budgetary and expenditure obligations across diverse funding sources.
Oversight of program-level and project-level status reports.
Act as the point of contact for, and engage with, internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive Project related issues.
Resolve problems using professional expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action and implications for work health and safety activities.
Please note that this role will require face-to-face contact with all stakeholders and as such you will be required at a minimum to be onsite at RAAF Base Richmond 4 out of 5 days.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

As the APS 6 Project Manager, you will manage a small group of personnel in the Capability Enhancement team.
The team comprises both Australian Public Servants (APS), Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Contractors.
