Intake Allocators (APS 6) work within the Open Arms Branch of the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA), Mental Health and Wellbeing Services Division, providing operational support to ensure timely allocation of current and formerly serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, their partners, and families to services. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Intake Allocator is responsible for the management of the regional allocations queue. This involves reviewing intake assessments, liaising with clients as required, management of client expectations in line with organisational capacity, and liaising with clinicians and other key staff to facilitate the referral process.
Intake Allocators conduct intake assessments to inform suitability for couples and family counselling, including Family and Domestic Violence screening. On occasion, they may conduct counselling intake assessments for internal referrals from Community and Peer Advisors and Clinical Care Coordinators.

Mandatory EligibilityThis recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s. For more information about the role, please see the Candidate Information Pack. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months. A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months. Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
