Salary: $91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% SuperannuationLocation: Russell - ACTThe RoleReporting directly to the First Assistant Secretary of Ministerial & Executive Coordination & Communication (MECC), the Business Management Team (BMT) delivers business management and corporate governance functions to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Division in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental policy and procedures. Working in MECC will provide you with a unique 'balcony' view of the Department, a strong understanding of the Government's agenda, Defence enterprise-level priorities, and how ministers and their offices operate.You will work as part of a small dynamic team to manage and coordinate business operations processes, conduct research, contribute to corporate reporting and governance, interpret policy, and provide timely advice to divisional staff and other stakeholders across the department. You will work closely with the MECC Senior Leadership team and executive support staff to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Division.You will have a high level of stakeholder engagement and will be required to develop a clear understanding of business requirements, identify issues, and problem-solve to achieve outcomes.About our TeamThe team coordinates workforce management, planning & reporting, division-level budget planning & management, security compliance, reporting and advice, divisional records management compliance and education, coordination of office accommodation requirements, coordination of induction, training and education for MECC staff, and coordination of departmental education sessions for MECC lead functions such as understanding ministerial and parliamentary processes (including Cabinet submissions), Senate estimates preparation, freedom of information decision-making, and media engagement.MECC Division operates in a dynamic, high-tempo environment and is the central interface between the Defence organisation, Defence portfolio ministers, the Government, the Parliament, media organisations, and the public.
